Copy & Paste Question?

When i copy an paste an url for a friend,how do i replace the long url address with some writing of my own eg "Click here" ive seen this done before but just never got around to asking people how they replaced the url name with their own name for it. Cheers for any info

it depends what you are pasting it into to..on here
it's explained here but in other things it's done differently.

Thanks for that chuck,so are you saying that we cant do it anytime we like and it depends on the site we are on? i only really need it for facebook you see.
