Red Ring Of Death

Hi Everyone Can any of you help? I have never owned an Xbox 360 before and managed to get a bargain on Ebay, or so i thought. In the description it said "Red Ring Of Death" and not being that clued up i thought it was a game that came with it. I now find out it is actually a fault with the system. As you can imagine i am a little Pi@@ed off. Do any of you know how i can fix this WITHOUT sending it away and forking out more money? I have seen the youtube video with the towels but it looks very iffy to me. Please help Thanks Dean

Because this is, without doubt, the most stupid question I have ever seen on here.

I just put "red ring of death" into google and got 324,000 results. I checked the first few pages and ALL of them mention a hardware fault. The very first result says, "the famous 'Red Ring of Death', means a general hardware failure and the ...."

Anyhow, I thought you'd gone?

Triggerhippy, MATTK, Abdul & Pugg: Still haven't received the thing yet so going to start a complaint proceedure. On the upside, I have bought a 360, on ebay, for a good price, and it works perfectly. Even came with the clipon cooling fans which the previous owner bought at the same time he bought the console. Triggerhippy, i don't normally go for football games but as you've been so nice i'll get a copy, practice a bit, get XboxLive and let you know what my screen name is :) You'll have to be gentle with me though, no more than a 12 - 0 win to you :)

Hi everyone. Just a quick note to let you know that it all got sorted out. I contacted PayPal, never do cheques or cash on sites like that, and they took up the case. After 3 weeks of trying to contact the seller, who did not respond to them (even though he tried to give me a fake parfelforce tracking number) i got a full refund YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. Needles to say i put the refund towards some games. for the newer one. Happy as a pig in the preverbial, as they say. Got a game called "Ring of Death" but it was pants so i sent it back LOL
