I have 2 questions and would be grateful for some help.
1. After signing a contract and paying a deposit following a solicited visit from a salesman when exactly does the 7 day cooling off period start - is it the minute the contract is signed?
2. Can the contract be cancelled if the cancellation letter is posted before the end of the 7 days but received by the supplier after the 7 day period?
Thanks.

Hi pauln90 and thanks for your help and for posting that link for me. I've since phoned Trading Standards who have confirmed that as long as there is proof that the cancellation letter was posted prior to the end of the 7 day cooling off period, it doesn't matter when the supplier receives it.
