Earlier this year, John Barnes, from Michigan, claimed he was actually Stephen Damman, who was snatched from his stroller in Long Island, New York, in 1955 when he was two years old.
The missing man's 78-year-old father Jerry Damman was hopeful that he would be reunited with his son, until DNA tests proved negative.

After the tests Damman said: 'It's disappointing and it's too bad we had to go through all of this for actually nothing in the end.'

Need to belong - there are many strange people one can only feel sorry for them. This girl has been talking to her mother and apparently remembers everything so it seems hopeful
