I've had three Clios and had problems with the brakes on all of them.
The first time I had a problem with the brakes I took the car into the Renault dealership I'd bought it from and they "repaired" them. A week later the back brakes fell apart - luckily I wasn't driving fast and both the car and me were unhurt.
Perhaps there's a "problem" with Clio brakes.
