Wasn't sure in what section to ask this question so here goes anyway. I have just been accepted at university to do a degree but they need to see evidence of my O level results. Unfortunately I am nearly 50 years old and I took my exams in 1972. I have absolutely no idea what happened to the certificates, has anybody got any bright ideas as to how I can get copies? I'm not even sure what board it was! Cheers in anticipation

Your secondary school are likely to have a record of your results, or at least a record of what board they usually worked with.

Why not give the school secretary a ring and ask?

Good luck with your studies.

Have you discussed the situation with the university and asked their advice?

Congratulations on getting in and good luck.

I was accepted as a 'mature student' to do a BA at a south coast university and had a similar problem.

The university recognised that many 'mature' students perhaps cannot access, or even do not have, secondary school certificates and I had to write a paper as evidence that I had some academic ability and could string a couple of sentences together.

I suggest getting in touch with the admissions office and explaining the problem. I found that many universities have a slightly different approach to dealing with older students than those coming straight from school.

Good luck with your studies.
