I don't often look on here..let alone post! I haven't read all the posts...so apologies if I repeat anything. Whilst I know we often hate change...I keep an open mind and welcome new changes that might improve what is after all...a good, free site.
I find that what is troubling me at the moment...apart from the problems you did seem to quickly rectify...that as now, when I am posting..I have to physically move nearer to the keyboard!...even with my specs!
I also liked the 'lines/margins' that seperated the posts...I am now looking to see wher one ends and one begins...or is that my computer?
I do think it would have been helpful to warn of such major upheavals!...then again...maybe I missed that too!

hmmm .... Well this morning I posted an answer to a question, but hadn't logged in before doing so. Got the usual log in and then the page with the answer and the submit button, submitted the answer and nothing ... that was a couple of hours ago.

Logging in before answering the question solved it and the answer did appear immediately

I do find the font on the postings a little on the large size but I guess you have done that so that older people or those with eyesight problems can read the material easily. It's probably too much to ask that a facility could be provided to allow the user to change the font size to the preferred level.

Hi spare ed. The improved loading speed is great - was getting very frustrated with old site. But I find the layout / design rather ugly and intrusive - the big mustardy-yellow boxes and the over-large 'avatar' icons. Plus, the text when entered is very tiny which is hard on the eyes

POSTING IN THE RIGHT TOPIC

When posting a question, please include a stage (or just a new field) where the user has to confirm the topic/subtopic into which it is to be posted. This could be done using a drop down menu with each of the topics included, default value set to the current topic/subtopic.

e.g there are so many questions to do with the new format being posted in numerous of the topics whereas maybe they should all be in AB Suggestions.

Sorry if this has already been said. I use quizzes and puzzles a lot and when searching it is usual to put the crossword title, a gap and then the crossword number. This used to work reasonably well, but now it's coming up blank even though I know there are answers. Others are complaining the number part is ignored and many answers come up relating to previous crosswords with a different number.

Androcles I am using Firefox and it is working, though not perfectly.
EDITOR: Could you please get the techies to do something about the search facility on questions and answers. If I search for questions on EV 879 I get lots of old EV's with different numbers but can only get as fat as 865 or some such then it stops. I don't want to look at old threads, I want to join in the current one. Thanks

Having been very critical, I must now say thank you for fixing the Firefox viewing problems. All the text is now in the correct boxes and the answer bar shows all the pages so access is returned to relative normal.
