It's cheaper food but the brands are so unfamiliar, I went in one not long ago and just struggled to find anything framiliar. the Co-op in our village are bandits though and charge stupid money to people who they know have no other choice if they don't have a car or can't get to tescoes or asdas.
don't buy lidl fruit and veg, in our experience it's rubbish.
People rave about Lidl fruit and veg but I have to agree with prudentia, it is always on it's way out in my experience!

Their chocolate is fab though!
My local Co-op is the same. Charges a lot more than a bigger one about 5 mins drive away because they know they can! Can be as much as 40p more per item!! And they don't care about anything and are usually very unhelpful. I'd love to know where they get their staff from!! Maybe Lidl's might be a welcome change!
