Ball Park Figure for Garage Conversion to Gym/Music Room
1 Answers
I am in the process of buying a fairly new house which has a brick double garage attached.
I would like to have this converted into a room which could be used as a Gym and Music Room.
I appreciate that the costs would vary considerably depending on personal reqirements and materials used but could anyone give me a rough idea as to what sort of costs I should budget for?
There is already power in the garage but I would need a couple of rads fitted. ( There is a source from an adjoining wall ) The walls are bare brick and the floor concrete. Obviously they would need to be insulated for warmth but I would also prefer some sound deadening insulation too.
Anyone know what a typical conversion would cost?
Thanks

You need Building Regulations approval for this conversion because you are converting a non-habitable room to a habitable one. This means you will have to satisfy all the relevant building regs. The main ones will be thermal, ventilation, passage of moisture, minimum areas of window in the new structure
