I need to buy a new microwave, mine is 5 years old and has discoloured inside where the rubber wheel goes round - looks rusty and corroded.  Can anyone recommend a good microwave (not a cheapie but not too expensive either)?  Thanks !

It depends on whether you want just a microwave or would you use a combination microwave oven and grill? Also you need to think about the size of oven you need. If it's a family,a larger oven is probably best although they do take up more space in the kitchen.

There are 3 of us and we've got a large Sharp oven that grills, bakes and microwaves. I think it's about 900W.It's got 2 removable oven shelves and is very versatile. I use it every day for microwaving, grilling, baking etc. and rarely use my main electric oven for cooking.(It takes ages to heat up) I can't be bothered waiting for that. The microwave oven only takes minutes to get hot. I have never had one of these before but wouldn't like to be without it now. It was fairly expensive, about 220 but worth every penny. You might not need one that large though.... Hope this has helped.

Thank you for your answer, but I tend to use my oven a lot and mainly need the microwave just for heating things up, so I only need a small one, plus it has to fit on the worktop and under the kitchen cupboards so it can't be too high!  II've never had a microwave before that has corroded like the one I have now, it works OK but looks dirty inside under the plate!  So I am looking for a smaller microwave, medium priced (around 120) please!
Hi  I replaced my microwave recently, from Tesco's!  I also had a space restriction, and also only really use it for heating and defrosting....... 49 was the cost, and I am extremely pleased with it.

I looked on the Tesco website this morning and a Panasonic microwave caught my eye, I will probably go for that one - and thanks for all your help.
