MM and KM Links October 2009 [Week 2]

Good Evening AB Linkers, everywhere!

I better come clean from the very beginning! Although (at times) I feel more like a recycled teenager, today I reached a notable milestone in the journey of man ~ I have reached the tender age of 65 years. I am officially a pensioner ~ but I have chosen to play it low key. My thanks go to those very good AB friends who have remembered, but for those who enjoy a Friday tipple and know what TGIF stands for, please raise an extra glass in celebration! To mark this event, I hope to launch Dragonfly Quiz V in time for Christmas 2009 and (DV) host the AGM 2010 for all you MM Linkers.

Last week, the October Links were set by the stalwart Queen Christiana who surprised me with her occupations (both past and present). You may ask, “How did she spend her formative years?” If I gave each of you 100 guesses, I doubt if anyone would get even close! As I have often said, you are an amazing bunch of characters and we have been brought together by our shared interest in the cryptic to form a unique fellowship. About ten days ago, I saw a question posed on AB by Dustybun. I immediately dropped what I was doing to answer her query! I think we each would behave in the same way!

Just reading back through Crofter's posting. It is so true...the people on here are amazing, and their life experiences are incredible. What a lucky lot we are to know each other.....even Strix! :-)))

I have been friends with this lot for over 2 years now and read this Friday fun for quite a while before I dared to join in. What a good choice I made!!! I don't know where I would be without the lovely people I have "met" on this site, and the offshoot.
I took the plunge and invited Pauline to my house (must have been mad!!) and now she is a very special friend who I know will always be my good mate.
I have met other people over a period of time and everyone of them has been brilliant.
Sorry, bit of a serious thread but am in a serious frame of mind tonight, but so glad I know you all xxx

Happy Birthday Crofter! If my maths is/are correct I am exactly one year and one week OLDER than you (which is why I wasn't in the Shrubbery last Friday!). So much older, in fact, that I am struggling with TGIF!!
Wasn't I lucky that on one of the very few occasions that I post a question, you happened to be there. I do hope no serious injury occurred when you dropped what you were doing!!

Congratulations and Happy Birthday Crofter. You make me feel like a baby, being exactly 2 years and 2 weeks younger than you. Down in our part of Kent we now get bus passes at 60, so I've been using mine for a few years already!
Good news about Dragonfly V, I can't wait.

Pauline, have to keep going to look for things I have put away for house viewing today!!! Just found the toaster hiding in the washing machine!!!! TV progs all say "clear your work surfaces" but they don't care that you can't find anything afterwards!!!!
I wonder where the bananas have gone???

Congratulations Crofter - like Aquagility I passed that point some time ago, but still remember the party we threw for our friends and family on the day. JUST ENJOY EVERY DAY AS IT COMES AND MAKE TE MOST OF IT.
