Experience with children?!

Hi there,

I have recently been thinking that I'd quite like to do Au Pair work in France, but of course I will need experience with children for this. I don't have any professional experience with children, and I'm an only child and have no cousins so can't use this either.

Have looked into baby sitting but I imagine most parents would not want to hire someone who can't provide a reference.
Does anyone have a clue where I could begin?!?

maybe taking a child care qualification would be desirable, I would have serious reservations about hiring someone to look after my children if they had little to no knowledge about children.

what has drawn you to this type of career specifically ?

enrol on a college course in childcare (evening classes if you cant commit full time ) and make sure you get a c.r.b. check sorted
