Last night , before going to bed, I put my Lifeline pendant on the bedside cabinet and this morning, putting it on, found that it had been tied into a loose knot. I have had table lamps switch on on their own accord. I have been nudged during the night although sleeping alone. After my mother-in-laws death, a month later, a chaffinch, an unseen bird where I live, kept trying to fly against the window of my patio doors. My daughter had a bird singing loudly and incessantly in a tree in her garden but when she told me about it and went home it had flown away. This has coincided with deaths in the family. Have they been signs that contacts with the departed are wanted ?

Odd things do happen, I've no doubt about that, but I'm not sure they indicate anything in particular.
Aaah how lovely.. (and a bit spooky).. I have to say I am a believer in the afterlife... and so I do think that these are just little ways that someone is trying to tell you they are around!

My parents have an embroidered letter J in a frame on their bedroom wall (as my mothers name beings with a J) and on the Birthday of my Dad's Mum.. the frame was found on the floor.. nail still in wall.. glass unbroken...

Her name was Jill.. so maybe she chose the embroidered J to communicate who it was doing the meddling!!!

My mum finds all sorts of things happen. and finds it quite comforting
No they are signs that people sleepwalk particularly at times of stress like the death of a familly member
no they are every day occurrences that usually go unnoticed but when a tragedy has occurred people look at them as signs and meaningful messages. they are not.
I don't know about contacting them that depends on whether you really want to hear from them again! It happened to my friend as well, for about a month after her mother passed away pictures would just fall off the wall, lights switch on automatically and such and like Nosha's mum, she found it quite reassuring and then one day..... the unexplainable stopped.

Maybe its the same thing?

Isn't it strange that some of you are downright hostile to my enquiries as if you have the answer to everything. In many spheres of modern day life, some people refuse to accept there may be things going on which they haven't experienced or understood so they can't accept them. Should we have more open minds about such things ?
Well said, Hugh.
Sorry Hugh but you can't argue with the logic of the people who know. It goes like this..
There's no such thing as the supernatural, therefore it must be something else. QED.
Hi Spencer, I don't think anyone is being 'hostile' to your enquiries it's just their opinion and its nice to hear a variety of opinions. I apologise if my post reads as such, I thought I was being supportive but the intended written word is not always perceived with good intention. I shall try again with hopefully some luck:

What I'am trying to say is that if someone I liked passed away prior to myself going - I would be well chuffed if they tried to make their presence felt. I wouldn't be if I didn't like them. But I would hope that it would be for a short period as 1) They are dead and 2) There's a reason they're dead - if we were meant to continue communicating then they would have been alive. That is simply an opinion that I would like to share with you.
i dont think that any replies were hostile, Hugh. Just how people see such things, many would look for a logical explanation first. Im sure you didnt immediately consider that these were messages from the beyond at first, surely you considered coincidence and the like.

I am a believer in the paranomral, but i would still look for logical and natural explanations first.

But, if these occurances are a comfort to you then so be it. But dont take offence if not everyone feels the same way.
The only hostile remark I read was from Hughrself.
you asked 'Have they been signs that contacts with the departed are wanted ?' and i gave my opinion.
as flob said, it is only you being hostile on this thread.

if you don't like others opinions then why ask for them ?

I was not, in any way, trying to be offensive but it reminded me of an entry I made a year or two ago. I told of my experiences using magnets, e.g. easing aches and pains, sharpening razor cartridges, and one or two people poo-pooed the idea yet now we hear that the medical profession is using treatment with magnets.
Hi again Laurie, you are so funny! Clearly there's an unresolved issue here going back in time? Something latent going on? It's quite interesting. Nothing to do with me, I wasn't on a year ago but you shouldn't hold other people responsible for what happened in the past. How do we know you had an unpleasant Answerbank experience?
But the magnets sound good. Loads of people wear magnetic bracelets for arthritis and such. Now I'am thinking either you will be p@ssed off with this response or hopefully you'll see the lighter side of it. Either way I won't harass you again. x
yes just read that thread, you had some spurious claims from a sales rep about the wonders of magnets or your money back after 15 days.

then i read the one about your shorts falling down in your garden and being arrested.......
Sorry Spencer, I called you Laurie! I was thinking of Hugh Laurie when I wrote - sorry. Thats the second apology today for my English. I think I'am mentally deteriotating (if I've spelt that right) It's lack of time. I'am all over the place today.
I think Ankou put it perfectly really.

Funny sort of things happen quite often. I just started university in Leicester which is about 5 hours from my home in Cornwall. A women at my old work (in Cornwall) mentioned to me that she knew a girl going to the same uni as me. Low and behold in my last lecture of the week i find this girl in my english class. I have classes with about 80 other studemts throughout the week. What are the odds of me having this girll in my class? At a uni with 15,000 students this one girl happens to be one of the 80 students i work with.

Often these sorts of seemingly amazing events can be interpreted as something other than coincidence, this is particualrly common when people's emotions get involved (such as with a bereavment). I'm not trying to be aggresive or 'poo poo' your beliefs but if you take a step back it's clear that the majority (if not all) of these kinds of amazing incidents are just natural coincidence that would normally pass us by.

Hi Ankou,
It is strange that the use of magnets on animals resulted in a high rate of success. Animals can't think they are feeling better after wearing a magnetic product. But as I have said before, it depends on the quality and power of the magnets.
