Sickness during redundancy consultation

I wold appreciate any advice that could be given with my current situation. My role was made redundant in July a few days before I was due to go on holiday. The holiday was honoured and the consultation period was pushed back to reflect this. While I was on holiday at my house in another party of the country I developed bells palsy and have been signed off as I am unable to see or speak clearly. The company invoked the occupational health team who have been advising to remain where I am until such time that I am well enough to travel.

My concen is that even though I am still being paid as I was only \"at risk of redundacy\" when I became ill, can I still be made redundant while suffering with this illness?

There is inconsistency in your question.
In one part you say your role was declared redundant in July.
Later you say you are currently at risk of being declared redundant.
Which is it?
Announcing redundancies can happen in different ways.
For bigger numbers, employers have (by law) to declare the start of a 30 or 90 day consultancy period.
What is the situation at your works - have some people left already?

My role has been made redundant but I was advised at the same time that I was at risk of redundancy unless another suitable role could be found. As I developed bells palsy and have been off work with this condition since and have not been able to complete the consultation period I am currently still employed. The other people who were notified at the same time have since been made redundant. I am pretty sure that I will be made redundant once the consultation process has been fulfilled, my question is can I be made redundant in my current position or does the company have to wait until the illness has run it's course before they can start the consultation process?
No, an employer does not have to wait.
It does have to behave in a reasonable manner.
But after a period of time, I expect they will conclude that they are just going to have to do it.
Yes, whilst your illness is clearly genuine, if employers had to wait for people to return to work then any person threatened with redundancy could just go off sick and postpone their redundancy. Clearly that would be unworkable.
