If anyone has a copy of Helen Dunmore's A Spell of Winter and the cover depicts a country scene...I think with a moon and snow...please could you tell me the publisher and date of publication? Ta Muchly.

Their item number 127 is a hardback signed first edition, listed as being published in 1991 by Viking. (Viking is part of the Penguin company). As to the cover - different editions, different covers. By doing a Google image search I think I have found the book that you are looking for, most of the hits seem to be overseas, however I have found a copy on the Midlothian Library site. According to the information given there, the publication date is given as 1996, the publisher is not stated, but in the bottom corner of the front cover is the Penguin Publishers logo, so think we can safely assume that it is indeed published by Penguin.
