Oh help me! On occasion, which has been about 4 times now, if I dont babysit my washer on a full load, it will continue to fill until water leaks other places in the house, under my kitchen cabinet, floods toward my front door, and front of the bathrooms. Yesterday I was in my front hall when I could hear the washer start its spin cyclye, then to my horror I heard a gurgling & belching & saw water begin to seep in my hallway at the baseboard. I know this is bad. I am a single mom & I dont know what to do. It sounds very expensive! The only other clue I have is that we have been flooded with rain, and there is a lot of water in our yards and ditches. BTW the water that is coming in is fresh, not soapy or anyting. Help!

Are you in the UK or the USA? There are some differences in the water supply and drainage systems between the two, which affects how you can be advised. From what you describe, it sounds as if the water supply pressure is overwhelming the washing machine, but also that the sensor that detects when the machine's drum is full has stopped working, so it just continues to fill with clean water.
It's either not plumbed in correctly, blockage somewhere or rubber corroded.....or, as per my daughter, with clothes hanging out of locked door causing flooding. Best to install it outdoors or call a plumber.

Mum's are useful - I sorted my daft daughter's mess.
Have you actually seen the water come out from your machine. From the comments given the problem may be elsewhere, like impeded drainage.....for example.
