France - Long Weekend

Hi all, I am thinking of taking my gf for a nice long weekend in France.  Approximately 2-3 hours drive from Calais max, was thinking the Reims area but was looking more for relaxing romantic small town with 1 or 2 bars and a couple of restaurants as a base to tour an area with some historical/cultural/scenic interest.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'd reccomend Brugge, sure it's Belgium but only abot 1.5hrs drive and really nice. I just went there with my girlfriend and decided to feature it in my magazine because I like it so much. Can reccomend a great B&B too
