Windows Firewall
I recently was having truble with my laptop (Acer 5315 using Vista). It had been running slow for ages but I suddenly found it would not connect to the internet (wireless connection).
My next door neighbour works for a firm installing and setting up computers, so I asked him for advice. He diagnosed my problem as being due to a firewall programme that I had downloaded recently. He said that the Windows firewall was OK for what I wanted it for, so he removed this firewall and advised me to get more RAM, which I did. Since then, my laptop has speeded up enormously.
The only trouble now is, nearly every time I start to use it, a window pops up telling me that my firewall is turned off, so I have to turn it back on again.
Does anyone know what I should do to make it stay on?
