Just to say congratulations on your thread, as in my opinion, was the most interesting for many a while.

"Anyone who reads my posts will know (even though they might not like to admit it) that I am never rude or personal to anyone, unless they are first rude and personal to me."

So it should read:

"Anyone who reads my posts will know (even though they might not like to admit it) that I am never rude or personal to anyone, unless someone somewhere has first been rude and personal to me."
Ooh,lots of my comments there in AOG's example........now try posting them in context AOG. They were simply replies to things you had written,I stand by every one of them by the way.
whats with all the back slashes ? ///// this and ///// that.
is it a sign of manic behaviour ?
Ankou

This back slashing as you call it, was a method I introduced to substitute for the loss of the italics facility.

Italics being a way of showing that the passage is from someone else's work.
They are forward slashes anyhow.
"They are forward slashes anyhow"

phew, much prefer people who stab you in the front to those who stab you in the back. sign of a true gent.

/// They were simply replies to things you had written ////

I would have thought that was pretty obvious, they definitely wasn't in reply to things someone else had written.

No matter how you try to alter the fact, they were personal, rude and aggressive remarks, made against me simply because you disagreed with me,

Disagree with me all you like, that is what this site is all about, (views from different view points), but there is no place to be rude to people, unless of course they are first rude to you..
Or unless someone else has been and it's made you grumpy.
"You did however criticise our brave troops serving in Afghanistan, and since I as a patriotic English man, find any criticism towards these heroes, a personal and rude comment towards not only our troops but also myself, and a member of my family, since I have a family member out there at the moment.. "

Hang on...

So, you accuse "The Left" of being abusive in order to attempt to stifle free speech - including, for example, as I think you've referred to it, the right to 'criticise' ethnic or sexual minorities. Correct me if I'm wrong. But you're allowed to do exactly the same thing if someone criticises the armed forces?
