What do I do ....
9 Answers
we took our cat to the vet as she had breathing problems and she
had a tumour which was removed , the biopsy was sent off and then
we were asked did we want a 2nd test done ( £52 ) , so ok as she was
testing for cancer , the results should have taken 2 days ....and then we were
asked if she was insured ...and no she is not ...the bill is now over £1000
which we can't afford ...so should they have asked about insurance in the
beginning ? or have they kept us on a string to make money , playing on our
emotions ? We don't know what to do as the cat is still there ..and the bill is
getting bigger ...anyone have any answers ?

youd have been acruing costs from the moment you took her in.
an emergency appointment when she had breathing problems would have been nore than £52 to start with.
How have they broken down the costs so far?
we have had our cat at vets for an emergency this week and with just blood tests and 2 nights stay we are already looking at between £500 and £600. An MRI was discused, but thankfully the cat is recovering (albeit slowly) and that would have cost £1500 plus vets time!
Please speak to your vet asap about the costs and discuss how you will pay them. Its a hard lesson to learn.
Insurance or not, the costs would be the same.
