I have returned from the warm climes of Tenerife to a chilly UK and have developed a cough and cold over the last few days. I really think it’s an acute attack of “Man Flu”! Due to temporary technical problems with grannydi’s PC, I may well be making the launch on her behalf tomorrow morning! Everything is ready just to Cut & Paste, so I’m not expecting any problems. Once again, I ask you to gird up your loins, stiffen the sinews and prepare for bloody battle, for “Princess Di” hails from South Tyneside. My posting should open at 8.45am and I should declare the four words to be linked at 9.00am tomorrow, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. Remember ~ early hits gain bonus points!
Of course, it is also a brand new start for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at a very early hour (which is difficult to predict precisely). Consequently, the timing of your posting is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register. The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz and goes by the name of “seekeerz”. We are most fortunate to have such a “bonzer sheila” to help out we pommies. As I always say ~ “Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?” They remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards.
Tonight is the first Friday in the month and it is my turn to set the Quiz for the local Cricket Club. I have already set the 40 Questions, but the picture round needs finishing off. A typical question is “Which sportswoman has a name of the form (7,11) and is an anagram of VARIANT RIVAL TO A MAN”?
This Northumbria connection is running on, isn't it? First you, Krophta, with your east coast reminiscences and now we are moving slightly south into South Tyneside. I wonder where Princess Di hails from in South Tyneside? But with a royal title like that maybe she's the Angel of the North?
Have been to see my Granddaughter in school choir at the cathedral. As some of you may know Pauline had an op yesterday, but isn't too well today .
I suspect a lot of people are going to be out on Fridays now, celebrating Christmas things.
I am moving house next Friday so may not be around !!!!!!!!
Good evening evsajo....very quiet tonight, yes, I suppose it's a busy time of year. Good luck with the move next week. I didn't realise Pauline was having an op.....give her my love if you contact her, with good wishes for a speedy recovery.
I am turning in now, catch you in the morning with the links.
Goodnight, and good luck tomorrow
Ha Ha wait until tomorrow and you will find that whilst I live in South Tyneside I actually hail from other parts.
Just been out for the evening but will be around tomorrow to make sure that you are all behaving yourselves.
Have a good sleep and be ready for 9.00a.m.
