'Thug' must pay his victim £1000, 16 week jail term suspended for 1 year, and 150 hours of community service.
His crime 'charge of religiously aggravated assault'.
An appropriate sentence or did he get off too light?
/// Ms Sidat, who has worn a niqab for 15 years, added: “I was born in this country and love this place. I just want to be treated like everyone else.” ///

LOL..I can only assume your reply and comment was a tongue in cheek response.
I would not intervene in a physical way if I saw a fracas involving youths, whether or not the victim was a male, female, Goths, non Goths, Caucasian, Negroid or whatever and I would simply dial 999.
Have you noticed that certain parts of the UK are dangerous and violent

Well when Madleson was pelted with green custard, the reaction was pretty much the same: It is assault and should be treated as such. http://www.theanswerb...s/Question721364.html
I would think that Mandleson is more of a hate figure that a policeman.

I just can not accept that just because you do not fit the norm, that you are open to violence and abuse.
What is the norm anyway?

Looking at that picture I realise how lucky my Dad was to survive an unprovoked attack on his way home from the pub...fish and chips in hands.
There was not one part of his face that wasn't swollen and purple. 6 broken bones in his face and his nose didn't stop bleeding for over a week.
It gave me nightmares for years...
