Internet download limits

Most Internet providers give a download limit and can charge heavily if you exceed the limit. Is there software available that can reside on your computer to check your download use?

Networx is the one I use http://www.softperfect.com/products/networx/

There are some others which are more popular but I have found this to be just as accurate as them (indeed some others that I used before can seriously underestimate the usage).
