Can i insure my car for only 3 months as i want to sell it but keep it on the road legally.

yes but probably cheaper to go for 12 months then cancel.

Yes, definately insure the car for 12 months, then cancel when you sell the car. If paying by direct debit from your bank account DO NOT FORGET TO CANCEL IT AT THE BANK. It can be hard to get money back once it has been taken out of your account and can take ages to get it sorted.
