Todays children just arrive unexpectedly, uninvited and wont be ignored but they dont demand wedlock. There will be a population explosion in 9mts after last nights drunken antics.
I think Goofey's reeled us all in with this one!
Isn't it amazing how easy it is to provoke a reaction on this topic. It's of the same relevance as the old law about a man walking ahead of motorised vehicles waving a flag. Logically we all know that life is as it is and life goes on - but it just takes ol' Goofey to light the blue touchpaper!
I have absolutely no propblem wih children being born out of wedlock,or couples simply choosing not to marry for any reason.
But the one thing that does trouble me-having seen a few situations- is the lack of rights in some legal situations. The first example that comes to mind was when my Brother-in-law suffered a brain haemorrage...and his then long-term partner(and current wife) was not permitted to visit.......I don't know if the laws have changed in any way...but that and wills can be a problem.
Yep have the children but don't get married. Parents who find themselves in bad marriages are emotionally hurting the children more than if they separate. Good for you if you are happily married, it is the ideal situation in all respects but this isn't an ideal world and people are far from ideal.
And that means you shouldn't abhor someone who makes a choice of not being married to the father or mother of their child.
Oh Goofy!!!!
Yes I was born out of wedlock, shame on me!!!!!!!!!!!
I was adopted as a child because my Mother who was single, was unable to care for me as my Father did a runner & could`nt /would`nt face up to his responsibilities. I expect many children have/will experienced the same as me, but I was lucky as my Adoptive parents were wonderful!!!
Don`t put labels on people when you don`t know the truth.
