I have a 3 year old westie and for the last few weeks his poo has been extremely loose. although he doesn't have diarrhoea.
I am at a loss as to why........each day all he has to eat is Burns dry dog food and a dentistick.....I never give him my food.
He is a very fit and healthy little dog so I cannot understand this change.....also it's getting impossible to pick it up which is embarrassing........
Any suggestions please......

get a sample if poss and show it to a vet
If it has a slimy film coating he could have colitis. Get him checked by the vet in case.

thanks lankeela........will do. He is a very healthy, happy little dog apart from this problem.
In the mean time, if you can find canned plain pumpkin (not the pie filling, spiced variety) feed him about two tablespoons per day. It can't hurt him, mot dogs really like it and Mrs. C's Zuchon goes thorugh the bowel probelms from time to time as you describe. The veternarian suggested it and it does work wonders. That advice only cost us $50 here in the U.S., but it's free to you...
