I have a dormer extention in my attic - there is a metal roof to my bathroom. Pigeons seems to use this as a race track and make an awful noise. They drive one of my cats mad - he just can't get to them.
The noise of their tiny feet on the roof is pretty loud and their cooing is anything but soothing.
Well then maybe you need to invest in some cyanide and a machine gun (with a silencer) some sonic blasters, and some electric razorwire to stop them coming back - the b*ast*ds !
We have a terrible problem with pigeons here, they don't come onto my verandah because of my cats but they go on the one upstairs and I've noticed they have hung strings of cds up which seems to help. Their flat is empty most of the year though, so the pigeons have been running amok up there.
I had a dreadful problem with pigeons roosting and breeding. The noise and filth was unbelievable. My house has 3 floors and as I got them away from one place, they just found another. The only thing that worked for me was a product called Pigeon Off - my neighbours have also put them on their windowsill. Result - wholesale pigeon exodus.

I find the sound of woodpigeons cooing soothing too. However, we only see country woodpigeons so never have had the problems that feral pigeons brings. I didn't realise that they were actually not the same and that feral pigeons originate from stock doves!
