There was a childrens song out years ago on vinyl - it went something along the lines of:

I'm the little man in the fridge, I live with the ham and the butter......

I turn the lighty on - or something

Does anyone know anything about it - who it was by etc.

I think the original was the B side of a Tommy Steele single from many moons ago - called "I puts the lightie on" (1958). The A side was "The only man in the island".

The song is on the following CD:

Tommy Steele: The Decca Years 1956-1963 (2cd)

You can even listen to it on the following link (HMV) by clicking on the song. I'm sure it's the same song. It has the same words you mentioned.

This particular cd is available at a lower price on Amazon (just in case you are interested in buying it):

hee hee  -thanks very much - that's exactly the one!
I've been trying to find the answer to that question for 40+ years. Nobody I knew remembered it and many said I was mad and there was no such song. Thank you so much Revshirls and Mungojerry!
