How long does it take roughly, to upload a 3 minute video on to Facebook?

that would depend on your connection speed and the upload rate as well as the size of the file your uploading.

and the connection speed allowed by the corresponding domain your trying to upload to.

all these factors could add up to a long time or none at all .

if the file size is approx 15 meg and your connection speed is say 6 meg with an upload of average 750kb then a time of approx 2 to 10 minuets if the domain isnt to busy .

faster times and longer times could be recorded but a number of factors have to be taken into account.

Thanks for that. The video was 123mb, so my laptop would blow a fuse if I let it take the 1hr 55mins that FB wanted. Shorter vids of my granddaughter are called for methinks.

sadly uploading takes longer than downloads , but that is due to teh upload rate supplied by the IPS .

reducing quality can make for longer clicks to be uploaded faster , this can be done in a number of ways for instance removing any sound that maybe attached or reducing video window size. any editing software you may have should have something in the help file regarding quality that could help on this.

also taking into account times of high user usage on the site your planning to upload to can make a differance to the upload rate. as its bound by shear volume to be slower as more users are online using th service they provide , therefore making any potencial upload slower at peek times.

To s_c, I just successfully uploaded my video early this morning when most of the US is asleep I guess and it took 40 minutes. Thank you very much for your help.
