we have recently moved to a property that has no mains electric supply to it we asked scottish power for the cost of connecting us to the grid the cost is £30,000 does any one no if there are any grants or other funding available? thanks
When buying, the price paid needs to reflect the work that needs doing on a property. There are no grants for electricity supply that I know of.
Presumably the vendor used a generator, so perhaps continue with that method? They are quite reliable, if somewhat more expensive in generating costs.
Think about one of the new ECO Boilers with a Sterling Engine ... It develops power into your main supply .. probably enough to run the house.
Solar is very expensive still for the output you would need.
Wind turbine or generator in an outhouse other options.
Check out the Boilers .. They are amazing. I have a friens who is Baxi employee with one fitted. Can't even hear it.
