Tonsilitis

i have got a nasty case of tonsilitis and anything i try to relieve it with doesnt work. ive tried sprays, lozenges, drinking iced water, tepid tea, honey/lemon and even bought a jar of manuka honey for £10 because it is supposed to have great healing properties. nothing has worked. i have started a course of penicillin this morning for 5 days but i am in agony and need some kind of relief from the horrendous sore throat. the pain brings me to tears.

Awful isn't it. I took two paraceitamol and two ibuprofen at the same time and sucked a lot of ice chips... Feel better, one of the worst pains I ever had.

first of all..........poor you, tonsillitis is a bu88er

in my experience nothing really helps until the antibiotics kick in, painkillers just barely take the edge off it. I used to get this regularly and the doctor said to try and go without the antibiotics on the last occasion I had it.........once again it was a bu88er........but I haven't had it since....so that approach worked for me.

once again, my sympathies..........keep warm and only sip warm drinks or soup.

the throat seems to be a little better but now ive started with conjunctivitis. it never rains but it bloody pours
