how to stop crying

my daughter gets very emotional. which is'nt a bad thing but we are going to a funeral on friday and she says she won't be able to hold back the tears.. how do you stop yourselves from crying?

?funerals are for crying or are they not, tell her to imagine you in polky dot frillys while at the funeral, she'll soon stop crying

Why would you at a funeral? Let her cry. I've cried at funerals of my dads residents when I've gone to keep him company and I've never met them! It's a sad occasion and it's ok to cry.

thanks suzie1 but that might make her laugh .. they say crying and laughing are very similar emotions..

i laughed so much at the last funeral i attended, that tears came out and people actually thought i was crying and they were comforting me.bizzaar

thanks china doll I agree they are sad times but she is very emotional and it takes her ages to control herself..and gets a bit self coscious about it.. i've told her not to worry but she does..maybe out side afterwards i will tell her i'm wearing pokka dot knickers.. just hope noone else hears..

Aww bless her, it's really ok to cry but if she is that self conscious something like Kalms tablets or Bachs rescue remedy might help, psychologically as well.
