good day spoiled

thought I was having a good day, decided to redecorate the lounge while the dear one was away for a couple of days, covered up all carpet and furniture in the room very carefully, it looked splendidwhen done, thought I would have a cuppa before taking off the dust sheets, when I went back, there all along the hall were painty footprints, must have trod in a blob on the way out, never would have thought a small blob of paint could spread so far, lucky it was emulsion so I could wash it out, took longer to clean up than to paint, hope the (new) carpet dries before the dear one gets back or I will never hear the last of it.

I remember knocking over a tin of white gloss years ago in the bedroom! The wardrobe went over it! ;0)

My dad once kicked the lid of a tin of white gloss down the stairs and it skipped off every single one, covering the nice new navy carpet....

alls well that ends well, the carpet dried in time for the dear ones return, and I was highly praised for doing a good job (which makes a change)
