I went to Dubai on a business conference about 5 years ago, and found it a very tolerant and well organized society.
We had plenty of alcohol at our events (supplied by the various Dubai hotels and conference centres) and nobody from the country seemed worried or concerned about our drinking.
I also went to Saudi Arabia and that IS a country for Muslim fanatics.
Dubai is so much more tolerant and easy going, in fact I am surprised they made such a big deal about a public kiss.

The Peterborough Today headline was genuine, but the spoilsports have removed it.
