The question I am asking is by no way an insult, Undermining, just in case anyone thinks I am, after seeing a program last week on missing people, " the person that went out for a walk with his dog, to be found the following day by helicopter" Is there a Tracker on the Market that people with Alzheimer's can place on their arms like a watch? would it work? would you use the device on a member of your family to help them but NOT infringe their liberty or Integrity, or Intelligence?
nice idea if it saves a life.
But how could you ensure they keep it on? if they are confused enough to wander off they may also remove a device thats there to help at such a time
Good Morning Redcrx, the strap can be PUNCH SEALED, sorry about the shout, it must be very Humiliating for these people to go through this very bad time, & equally for the people that look after them.
I'm not intending to be insulting either, but what about a chip like we put on our dogs, yes it's more invasive but if they reckon a dog can't feel it then why would a human? Actually I think it might be a better idea for bandits instead of those ankle tag things, they can't fool the tracker then.
I heard a while back about someone who was considering implanting her children with microchips as she was so worried about them getting lost or abducted - I don't think it's a new suggestion but for people who wander, it has possibilities - however the old Human Rights Act is bound to say it's an infringement of civil/personal liberties!
Those chips fitted to dogs are not for tracking, they are for identifying the dog if it's found, they require a wand to be swept within few CM of them to activate the chip so it can be read.
Any tracking device needs a fairly substantial power source as they need to transmit a signal all the time, so unless you are suggesting that people have a rechargeable battery surgically fitted and charge themselves up every night embedded chips wouldn't work.
