Does anybody use a CB radio these days? Or a 2 meter radio ?

I've not heard anything on 27MHz for at least a couple of years here in Moray, NE Scotland. 2M FM activity is occasionally heard, but I have yet to participate as I have no antenna up at the moment. No SSB facility here, so can't comment on that.

I read al the way through a trucker's newspaper (at a truck stop café) yesterday and didn't see a single ad for CB equipment. A few years ago there would have been loads of ads.

2 metres is still popular though, largely because of the number of repeaters still available to licensed amateurs using 144MHz.
