What is ginger hair? is it due to a certain diet or is it like a pigment disorder? also they say its scottish but I see it in different races. my cousins have ginger hair , also my friends ..we always made fun of their hair!

Nothing to do with diet or any kind of disorder...it is just a genetic variation of hair colour, and it can be very distressing to be ridiculed just because it is different or unusual

As Linda said, it is due to a genetic variation. People with ginger hair are special. Others who make fun of ginger hair colour are obviously jealous.

That's about the size of it wildwood... and we Ginger Nuts have the last laugh....we don't go grey like the rest of the population. Now in my 'nearly over the hill days' my hair is still ginger, but my brother who is 18 mths younger than me is getting quite grey all over!!!!

Ginger hair happens when both parents of a child pass on a red haired gene. They don't have to have red hair themselves because it's a recessive characteristic, so if they have any other colour paired up with it then they will have a different colour. It's not any kind of disorder or anything to do with diet.

IDIOT. some people have just had a go at me for having red hair.. i don't really understand... it's the most stupid, ridiculous thing you could say. some people really don't have the capacity to accept that i actually might have a different colour hair to them.. i'm awfully sorry i don't have boring brown hair, by the way.

again, making fun of someone JUST because of their hair COLOUR?
i fail to see the logic in that. do you also make fun of people who have a different colour skin to you?
