painful joint
7 Answers
Hi. The third finger of my right hand is giving me some bother because it aches most of the time. The problem appears to be where the joint connects the finger to my hand, if I try to massage the area it seems to aggravate the problem. Is this the onset of rheumatism or some such problem? I must add that I am no spring chicken but not yet quite past it I can still remember Nelson Eddy and Jeannet McDonald..........People will say Who?. cheers S.O.G.

If the joint is swollen it may well be the onset of one of the many arthritis types, of which only a blood test would determine. From what you say and if it is swollen then the likelihood is that it is either Rheumatoid or Osteoarthritis. Take Ibuprofen 400mgms for the control of the pain
If this doesn't control the problem, then go and see your GP for further investigation.
