LOL, LOL

Can I drop the Hove bit ?

Honestly, Mopsy ... Hove is where Brighton people go to die.

If you live in Brighton, and you suddenly lose all interest in fun, sun, sex, life, music, being jolly ... everything really, ... then you move to Hove.

Hove is a ghastly place.

they have a footi team don't they,,are they dead too..lol
Do you mean Brighton (and Hove) Albion ?

Or, as we call them ...

... "Brighton" !
Question Author
now is that snobby or what..lol
Brighton without its Hove is like Morcambe without Wise
just kidding pet!
Aww, it's not snobby.

"Hove, Actually" is the snobby bit.

That's why we try to disassociate ourselves from them ...

... as they do from us !

bit like us and Sunderland...it's us that are the better tho..
oops better duck down now..lol
Aren't you a bit more distinct, though, Mopsy ?

We sort of "merge" into Hove, unfortunately.

It's as if, when you are really old, and you look to move house, you could almost accidentally end up in Hove.

You live on the Western Road. You take a fancy to a house a bit further along the Western Road. Suddenly ... you've moved to Hove.

And trust me ... moving to Hove is "one way traffic" ...

We'd never have you back !

lol@jj
we are and have a very different accent from the Mackems...
Mopsy ♥
Mopsy ...

Even I can tell the difference between a Sunderland accent ... James Bolam ?

... and a Newcastle accent ... Jimmy Nail ?

What is/are "Mackems"
People who make ships as opposed to people who fit them out.
And it's Morecambe and Heysham (places) not Morecambe and Wise (people)
Golly !
Once you get to Waitrose you are in Hove...
Crikey, Boxy ... that's really clever !

Yes, Waitrose on the Western Road.
