Gordon Brown's Gaffe
Despite being a life long Tory voter, I feel a bit sorry for Gordon Brown.
Yes I know he should've realised he was still wearing a microphone, but can anybody, hand on heart, honestly say they haven't spoken to somebody and then walked away and said to whoever they are with that the person they were just talking to was a plank or similar?
I bet Susan got a massive b0llocking!

In an ideal world everyone would know this is being blown up out of all proportion, that all the candidates are much the same, and it is the policies not the personalities that are the priority. But the public and the media, being what they are, it'll probably have an affect in the polls far greater than it ought.

That's true, but it's significant because it confirms alot of his much talked about personality flaws - oversensitive, out of touch, prone to temper tantrums, intolerant of anyone who disagrees with him or he perceives to be a problem, poor communicator, and then immediately afterwards looking for somebody else to blame.
That's all before you factor in the childish and stupid notion that anyone who wants to express a concern about immigration must be a bigot.
The ridiculous thing is that an objective observer looking at the the conversation would have thought it went all went pretty well. His judgement of it as being a 'disaster' was based on the fact that it wasn't some fawning and grovelling party stooge telling him how brilliant he was from start to finish.

When will politicians ever learn about microphones?

Jaques Chirac (about Britain) The only thing they have ever done for European agriculture is mad cow disease

The lady was expressing her concerns about the impact of immigrants etc and on camera Brown was all smiles. When he thought he was safe he made his own true feelings known. I don't trust this man. I know we are obliged to allow EU citizens free access to UK, but most people I know, whatever their political views, are similarly worried about the flood of eastern Europeans to UK and the subsequent impact of local health and education services. We are not bigots...........what planet is Brown on?
The country is too overcrowded as it is. You know that when you have to allow yourself at least an hour or so to go a mile down the road to work, or put up with the huge crowds in shops and supermarkets where you can't even turn around for fear of knocking someone over, or vice-versa. we have been put in rather a frustrating and ridiculous situation by there lack of forward thinking.
No Flip-Flop not everyone who disagrees with someone says 'nice talking to you' to your face and then calls you names behind your back. The woman said in interview that she did not want to talk to Brown and the guy turns up at her house!
She should have locked her doors and windows and put a sign up saying - 'Gordon Brown not welcome - signed Bigoted woman, ex-Labour supporter.'

Ah I see someone else who thinks their personal experience is characteristic of the entire country
Actually when you have to allow yourself an hour to drive a mile down the road it's time to move!

It's amazing no matter what this guy does, there are always some that will feel sorry for him, is it because of his hangdog look?
On late night radio they were discussing the problem of Eastern European immigration, and one person phoned in to say that the Polish were good enough to fight for us during WW2.
Although I do not in anyway distance myself from the sterling and courageous contribution the Polish Forces made, let's make it clear it was us that were fighting for Poland, since it was Hitler's invasion of Poland that brought us into the second world war.
Those Poles who were lucky enough to escape to England, were then able, on behalf of their fellow country men, to carry on the fight and finally free their country from the hands of Nazi Germany

>I do feel sorry for Mr G.B. I'm no Labour supporter but hasn't this guy had enough bad luck already!?
What has "luck" got to do with it.
HE is the one on an election tour, HE is the one who spoke to this woman, HE is the one who made the rude comments, HE is the one who forgot he had a mike on.
I dont see where LUCK plays any part in this.
