I need a bit of help! I take the contraceptive pill CILEST. I ran out last month so have had a month of not being on the pill, I handed in my repeat prescription of them late last week so that I can start again. You are supposed to take these on the 1st day of your period. For me, that's today. i'm not sure that my prescription will be ready, or that i can get to the chemist in time after work. I have a few spare packs that have pills missing, this is because if ever I've been sick or had an upset stomach, I've taken another pill from another pack to make sure it still works. (it says on the leaflet that if u are sick etc less than 12 hours after taking a pill, it won't work, so i always take another to make sure) So, my question is, if i dont manage to get my pills tonight, could i, for a day or 2, take these spare pills? I didnt know whether i could as i probably wouldnt be taking them on the same days. eg, today is monday, but i might not have a monday pill spare, so could take a wednesday? Sorry if I've gone on a bit but am desperate to get back on them!!! Thanks for any help x

But basically it seems that Cilest is a pill with the same dose of hormones in each pill, and also that you only take it for 21 days and have a break. That means that you can take ANY of the pills in the pack on any day, they are all the same.
(Some pills have 7 days where you take a placebo pill instead of going on a break, and also some pills change the level of hormones throughout the month, so the pills are not interchangeable).
I'd have a read of your information to double check this, the important bits are where they say what is in the pills (should be fairly clear that they are the same) but as far as I can see there is no problem with your plan!
