I know time flies, I've just invested in 4 practise sats test books for the grandson, he's ok at spelling and english but has had extra maths tuition in readiness, so I've got him these to see how he will cope with test papers, it's like the 11+ at this stage
You should have saved your money, I don't believe in extra tuition, school teaches them all they need to know, its the childs ability to learn that is key! & the main thing is them having enough sleep. Sounds amazingly simple but its true. My boys are way ahead at school, not because of money I've spent, but time spent making sure they eat well & sleep enough hours each night :)
Hello there Slooow_Jo,
I haven't seen you around for ages,or have I just been posting in the wrong categories?LOL

That part isn;t up to me though Jo, he lives with his Mum, she's an accountant and also is still studying and they live a hectic life, he gets his booster tuition after school hours but in his primary school, and they only have so many resources and so anything i can do to help is welcome,
Hey Mr Veritas No your not in the wrong place I just haven't been around, nice to feel missed though ;)

Dot it really has been a long time for us hasn't it lol I'm training as an accountant as well now :)

I agree with what you say about doing the best you can for him :) BUT my view is that school is already doing that, any test or exam he will have will only be based on what has been taught him! & its been taught to him at school, so as long as he hasn't missed time or fell asleep in lessons he should already know what he needs to! Why put more pressure on the poor mite :( Don't know how it is where your lad goes to school, but I don't think its right to have nearly an hours homework each night! & thats just my 9 year old!!
