We are in to episode 5 now and so many clues thrown into the air about what happened to Sam Tyler and who Gene Hunt and his team are. Will Alex Drake ever solve the mystery as to why she found herself back in the early 80's?
Does anyone have any theories yet as to what is going on....It is getting intrigueing.

I have a horrid feeling it's going to end up with parallel universe or something similar. That would be a bit disappointing, but it shows how realistic the three series appear to be because the whole idea is basically impossible anyway. Did you read that the US version was axed after one series and the final episode showed them to be in a spaceship on their way to Mars on a 'gene hunt'? At least we can do better than that, surely!

As a lot of the police characters are either dead, about to be killed or in a coma and each in turn are seeing the light, perhaps it's about heaven and hell. Gene is St Peter of the pearly gates of police heaven and Jim Keats is the devil who tries to take them down below (something very sinister about that character). I think I must get out more.

I never saw the American version tearinghair but it sounds completely pants to say the least. As for moonshadows theory, i had roughly the same idea.

Can I just say I'm finding it REALLY slow paced, nothing seems to be happening at all!!
