can you re do the top layer of newly polished floor boards and change it from a gloss to a matt consistency??? without sanding?? or do i need to re do the whole process again?
If it's "polished" as in wax polish, then pauludall is dead right. If it's just glossy varnish, then try a matt finish varnish over the top; you've got nothing to lose!
I'd agree with tony1941, if it's varnished, 'key' the surface by lightly rubbing down with fine grade wire wool (which should be done between coats anyway), then finish with a matt varnish (or satin for a semi-gloss finish).
hi tartufo mr p says if you de-nib (light sand) it first then you can use Ronseal Diamond Glaze straight over it, it comes in different sheen levels including a nice satin finish
