I have entered my product key into my computer several times (correctly) but it won't accpet it.
What are my options, word is "locked" so I cannot save data.
When you say "won't accept it", do you mean that Word is telling you that the code itself is invalid, or that Microsoft is telling you that it's been activated too many times already?
Also, are you absolutely sure you're entering it correctly? Sometimes 'B' looks like '8' and 'L' looks like '1'. Make sure that you're entering a zero for anything that looks like 'O' or '0'...
Bobbi, the Microsoft website won't be much help other than to tell you to look on the side of your genuine Microsoft box to find the key for the product you're trying to install...
In that case, if you want to use Word you'll need to purchase it. What the shop has done is to install a copy which you're allowed to use for 30 days for evaluation. If after 30 days you want to continue to use it, you need to buy it...
if you've recently bought a computer it will almost always come with a trial version of office (which includes word) installed which will work for a certain amount of time (25 uses if I recall)
After that amount of time thel trial expires and unless you buy office you won't have a key to activate it/
Hi. I'm guessing that you've bought a PC (or laptop) recently with Microsoft Office pre-installed. These installations are almost always a time-limited copy ( eg 60 days or 25 uses). After "expiry" you have to buy the product. There will be a link for you to contact Microsoft - if you can't find the link, try looking under the "Help" menu...
