Ive got an large dining table and chairs I want to donate to charity...its too good to throw on the tip!!
Anyway, I had a large national charity come round one day to pick it up and they wouldnt take it away because there was a chip on the table leg!! he said that they would have sold it for about £150 in the shop, but because it was defected, he wouldnt take it away!!!! Its a charity shop...not everything is perfect, what do they expect?????
so, I was wondering if anyone could recommed a charity who would use the table and chairs, maybe a hostel or somewhere. I would need them to come and pick it up though.....
any help anyone?? Dont want to flog it on ebay, cant use that thing!!!!
Thanks xx

If they're not illegal (and assuming that it's not the same charity which you've already tried) the British Heart Foundation might accept your donation. (They have specialist 'Furniture & Electrical Stores'):

Many other charities, who might be interested, are only local. (For instance, we've got the 'Ipswich Furniture Project' in this area). Your local library might have details of something near to you.

For Tamborine (but the link will also be relevant to Mancmo if the chairs have upholstered seats):
If you re-upholster a chair with combustion modified foam and fire retardant fabric AND affix a PERMANENT label, in the prescribed form, nobody will come knocking on your door.
If you don't do that it won't be the police who'll be calling. It will be Trading Standards. (The maximum fine is £5000).
