I have a number of software programmes held on cd/dvd discs that I wish to download and use on my netbook, which obviously has no cd/dvd disc drive. How can I get the software from the disc onto my new machine? Thank you.

If these are standalone files, copy them to a pen drive, then onto the netbook and install from there.
If an autorun CD, copy the whole disc across in same way to the netbook hard drive.
That should work for you. Get a 2Gb or thereabouts pen drive for storage/backups.
