Washing m/c

I have an Indesit washing m/c.until,recently it did the wash part of the cycle but won't progress to the rinse and pumping out unless I change the dial by hand and then it carries on .Does anyone please know whether it is something that is easily rectified or to be dumped?? Thanks!!

Dump it .. It is likely to be a fault in the timer unit. These are relatively complicated electro-mechanical devices, are very hard to repair, and expensive to replace (in excess of £120, usually)
If you want something to last 15 years, look for an AEG German-made, even 2nd-hand.

the only time we had a problem with a washing machine (thing it was an ariston) it was the same as that. We weren't flush at the time so I put up with it till the day it started smoking.....happily we were at home at the time.
