We were in Palernmo in Sicily a couple of weeks ago and it was hilariously awful driving. I'd say 90%+ cars had dents in them, some had dents in the dents.
I remember going to Rome when I was a kid, and we all decided that Italian cars must be manuactured pre-dented.
Why do people no longer draw up to the line at traffic lights these days, but stop about six feet behind it? - any ideas? My driving instructor in the dark ages told me you have to stop at the line as people behind you will be expecting you do so, not to stop earlier. What's the point of NOT going to the line?
Most I see go over it, Boxy.

There was nearly an accident round the corner here this morning - someone shot across the red light and caused a blue-light fire engine some grief as it was crossing the junction (fast but quite legally).
