I watched a show on Tammy Wynette last night, one of the contributors was a feminist of the 1970s who berated Wynete for the lyrics of her songs.
She'd now changed her stance on the matter, but of course was right both times.
So it got me thinking, the other day I posted a link to a load of nonsense that was basically b i t c h i n g about other women, and on that score, there's a huge business in it with women's magazines.
Who's getting fat, who's getting thin, who's going grey, who's got wrinkles, who's got celulite, fashion disasters etc etc.
In the 90s it was all you don't need a man to raise a child, now men are realised to play a crucial role in a child's development (no sob stories please), in the 90s if a woman said she'd rather spend time with her children than go to work or pursue her carreer, she was derided for letting the side down and called "traditional" as an insult.
Women now are driikng to excess to the detriment of their own health and are involved in ever more cases of violent crime, I've heard it said that it's because women are expected to compete with men now.
The pressure to drink loads and fight (usually about a bloke) doesn't come from us, most women say that they undergo cosmetic surgery not because of men.
You hate to be told how to raise your children, what to think or why you do something, but you're often quick to tell others how to live their lives, and how.
So with the touch paper lit, here's the question, are other women more often than not a woman's worst enemy?

In regards Magazines etc I would say yes.
I'm 26, I'm not hung up on my weight, I don't weight myself as I'm not pushed I feel good in how I look but I have to admit it really bothers me when I look through many magazines and one week Britney/Colleen/Nadine etc are been chastised for looking curvy then a few weeks later they are put down for been too skinny, not eating enough etc, Where does it stop??! What kind of example does this set for young impressionable teenagers and young women? It may make them self conscious and possibly raise resentment..
How many times has Kerry Katona (granted I'm not her biggest fan) been in the papers after slimming down and been praised for doing so then a week later she is pictured coming out of kfc and is been humiliated for that..More times that not it is women writing these articles and it does seem quite bitchy.

i use to say av ad enuff of men am gunna turn lesbian bt now no way girls r much worse than men they r to bitchy thats y i have limiited girl mates cause u cant trust them n thats cumin from me a girl thats y i have a few male friends n cn trust them nt to say anythin bt can never trust them in any other way
I think to a certain extent I agree with you Everton and also with Ankou. Women love small talk, gossip etc. However, I have never really mixed with large groups of women, hate hen parties, etc. and don't have a 'circle' of female friends just a few close ones who I am very comfortable with.
I think it should be realised that equality is not the same as being 'the same as'. We deserve equal rights, but we have done ourselves a total disservice by trying to emulate men.

men are not blameless in this destruction of women though, according to mens mags the preference for dangerously underweight lollypop headed women with massive fake boobs is such that they seem to win most of the sexiest awards, women over a certain age are derided for daring to wear clothes deemed "too young" or for having lines and wrinkles.
